Executive Director

Mary’s Pence Executive Director’s role is to provide leadership to our mission of investing in women across the United States, Mexico and Central America by funding community initiatives and fostering collaborations to create social change. This role is responsible for leading staff by providing a clear focus on mission and strategies, ensuring processes and direction are in place to support staff in their work, and ensuring a funding model that provides resources to do and grow the work. This role serves as the key liaison with the board and is an ex officio member of the board.

The ideal candidate will have 5–10 years of leadership experience in nonprofit management, including: 

Organizational Leadership and Management

  • Nonprofit Management and Administration
  • Board Support
  • Development and Outreach
  • Program Development – Grants Program in the US and ESPERA Program in Central America and Mexico

Board Member

As a board member, the selected candidate will have the opportunity to provide strategic direction, ensure healthy governance, ensure financial stability, support staff implementing the mission, and act as an ambassador for the organization and the work. Some of the commitments are virtual monthly meetings plus face-to-face board meetings approximately 1 time per year, enthusiasm for spreading the word about the work, a three-year term, renewable for three years, willingness to work within anti-racist and anti-oppressive frameworks and actively engage in ongoing learning about these frameworks alongside members of the staff and board.

Volunteer Opportunities

In the Office

  • Join us for our year-end mailing party to stuff envelopes and get updates on the work.
  • Provide administrative support such as data entry, internet research, data analysis, proofreading, and donor mailings.

From Anywhere

  • Serve on a committee – Grants, ESPERA, Finance, or Development/Communications.
  • Write an article for our eNewsletter.
  • Translate documents into or from Spanish.
  • Staff an exhibit table with us at conferences around the US.
  • Share art, prayers, or poems that you’ve created.
