Mary’s Pence Announces 2025 Spring Grantees

Mary’s Pence is honored to announce the 12 organizations awarded grants for our 2025 Spring cycle. The following organizations were chosen because they embody our values of justice, dignity, and solidarity for cis women, trans women, and non-binary people. They also reflect our guiding principles by standing in solidarity with women on the margins through their commitment to addressing and making long-term changes around inclusivity and collaboration of social, economic, and racial justice issues.

Altagracia Faith and Justice Works (AFJW)
New York, New York | 3rd Grant

Altagracia Faith and Justice Works enacts change on a local level, with a specific focus on immigrant and Latino communities in Upper Manhattan. It promotes social justice through faith formation, leadership development, service, and advocacy opportunities.

CLUTCH Inc.
Nampa, Idaho | 1st Grant

CLUTCH Inc. provides a safe, inclusive and supportive community for LGBTQ+ youth in the small town of Nampa, Idaho. As Nampa’s LGBTQ+ Youth and their families are facing increased restrictions, CLUTCH Inc.’s team of volunteer queer adults and allies provide a safe space where LGBTQ+ youth can feel free to be themselves.

Hattie B. Black Women In Progress (Hattie B. BWIP)
Sierra Vista, Arizona | 2nd Grant

Hattie B. BWIP empowers young girls from marginalized Black and Brown communities, with a focus on girls residing in rural and underserved areas. Its Girls Confidence Camp provides academic enrichment, fosters sisterhood, and nurtures life skills, emotional resilience, and self-assurance for all girls in Southern Arizona.

Kind Hearted Women Society
Rapid City, South Dakota | 1st Grant

The Kind-Hearted Women Society, known in Lakota as Cante Waunsilpi We Ta Ominiciye, is dedicated to revitalizing Lakota cultural practices, empowering Native women and girls. Rooted in the Lakota values of respect, cultural revitalization, healing, empowerment, and community, the organization provides a safe, culturally connected space to heal, grow, and lead.

Loretto Justice Fellowship
El Paso, Texas | 1st Grant

The Loretto Justice Fellowship operates in El Paso at the intersection of complex challenges – migration, climate change, health care, political polarity – and the inequities that exacerbate their impact on marginalized communities. Centering community-identified needs, the Fellowship and collaborators invest in and partner with students from these communities through their journeys in justice.

Missouri Disability Empowerment Foundation
Columbia, Missouri | 1st Grant

Missouri Disability Empowerment Foundation believes every individual deserves quality educational and support, regardless of ability. They provide funds to train special education advocates and financial assistance for families seeking professional services of a paid advocate or attorney.

National Women’s Defense League
Germantown, New York | 2nd Grant

National Women’s Defense League is dedicated to preventing sexual harassment and protecting survivors in political workspaces. They do research to help understand the problem, provide education for the public, and develop policies that prevent sexual harassment and protect survivors. They seek to hold elected officials accountable.

North Carolina Hmong Women Association
Youngsville, North Carolina | 1st Grant

North Carolina Hmong Women Association (NCHWA) was founded to strengthen the voices of Hmong women and girls through education, advocacy, research, and leadership development. It creates opportunities for Hmong women and girls to thrive, while preserving and celebrating their cultural heritage.

Project Rainbow Utah
Salt Lake City, Utah | 2nd Grant

Project Rainbow Utah envisions a Utah where every LGBTQIA+ individual feels they belong and are safe. The organization fosters visibility through flag campaigns, promotes inclusivity through civic dialogue and training, and provides funds and other development support through a Community Fund.

ROOT Legal – Reclaiming Our Options Together Legal
Miami, Florida | 1st Grant

ROOT Legal provides legal representation, reimagining public safety by centering victims’ voices and visions of justice. Through legal aid, mediation, and community support, they address harm’s root causes—empowering all involved to pursue healing over punishment and create meaningful change.

South Asian Women Project
East Elmhurst, New York | 2nd Grant

The South Asian Women Project supports Bengali survivors of intimate partner violence and their families through culturally sensitive healing groups, trauma-informed counseling, legal advocacy resources, education, and financial empowerment. With the goal of self-sufficiency, they create space for women to feel safe and support one another.

Southern Project Hustle
New Orleans, Louisiana | 1st Grant

Southern Project Hustle centers Black Women and Black Queer Femmes building economic alternatives. It honors the legacy of the hustle economy, which is used to supplement the incomes of Black families. A key part of the work is building worker cooperatives and collectives to share in economic gains and flourish outside an unjust labor market.
