National Women’s Defense League (NWDL) is a nonpartisan organization dedicated to preventing sexual harassment and protecting survivors, particularly in political workplaces. NWDL serves as a movement backbone, developing national state strategies, coordinating advocates, and resourcing survivors. NWDL conducts research to help understand the breadth of the problem, provide education for the public and decision-makers, and develop policies and best practices that prevent sexual harassment and protect survivors.
NWDL‘s inaugural report, Abuse of Power: Uncovering a Decade of Sexual Harassment in State Government, reveals that sexual harassment by sitting state lawmakers over the last decade is pervasive and ongoing. NWDL advocates for policy change that prevents sexual harassment in political workplaces and holds elected officials accountable, ensuring everyone can work in a safe and respectful environment.
