The League of Women Voters (LWV) Minneapolis is a 101-year-old nonprofit originally founded to pass the 19th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution and to advocate for issues affecting women’s lives. LWV Minneapolis is a women-run, non-partisan organization that encourages informed and active participation in all levels of government, works to increase understanding of major policy issues, and influences public policy through education and advocacy. LWV Minneapolis plans to empower previously disenfranchised communities, to understand the important role that city government plays in their everyday lives, and to participate in local elections to make their voices heard. With racial justice and police reform as the dominant election issues this year, LWV Minneapolis will serve as a reliable resource for voter information and civic discourse around social justice concerns grounded in respect and inclusivity.
