Altagracia Faith and Justice Works (AFJW) is an organization that started through the leadership and efforts of laywomen of faith in New York. By putting faith into action, Social Justice Ministry Teams were created to tend to the needs of the community. Their aim is to raise awareness about the predatory Inwood Rezoning and to defend the rights of immigrants facing openly hostile, anti-immigrant policies. Addressing these social injustices allows Altagracia to bridge the faith community and the broader community of Manhattan to provide information, resources, and faith-based tools to address the roots of structural injustice.
