Women in Science and Engineering (WiSE) at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory (CSHL) is a grassroots network of scientists working to build a more supportive, collaborative, and equal scientific community female scientists. Along with focusing on the gender disparity in the sciences, WiSE provides outreach to introduce girls in the community to science. They accomplish this by providing female scientists with mentorship, career planning, networking, and educational opportunities, by educating the CSHL campus using data behind gender disparities in STEM, and by training the next generation of scientists through community outreach initiatives.
