The Women’s Friendship Group, a project of IARP is a first time Mary’s Pence grantee that promotes reconciliation between the people of Iraq and the United States, by engaging both Iraqis and Americans in cultural and personal exchanges, education, and the arts. The goal of The Women’s Friendship Group is to present Iraqi and American voices to counter negative stereotypes; to build mutual understanding, respect, and global solidarity; and to build community through dialogue. The Women’s Friendship Group is a model that can be replicated by others in Minnesota and beyond.
