It Takes A Village Collaborative (ITAVcollab) aims to work with women on reentry from incarceration in the D.C. area. Their “To Be Me” program supports women as they reintegrate into society. ITAVcollab’s goal is to serve a diverse group of returning female citizens that will feel connected, empowered, and enabled to use the tool of networking to advocate for the reintegration needs of women. The program will help women overcome the challenges they face by advocating for themselves post-incarceration. They Will engage in self-empowerment practices and will be mentored in social advocacy practices that will enable them to create meaningful change for themselves and within their reentry communities.
