Mama to Mama offers social support for mothers as they make the transition into parenthood. Their Community-Supported Doula Project provides doulas to women who are at very high risk for disparities in perinatal health outcomes. Recognizing that the doula profession suffers from a lack of cultural and racial diversity, Mama to Mama funds training costs for emerging doulas who are low-income women of color to serve in their Louisville communities. In 2021 Mama to Mama provided doulas to 41 families and hope to exceed that number this year.
