Pennsylvania Domestic Workers Alliance (PDWA) is a domestic worker-led organization fighting for justice, dignity, and power for house cleaners, nannies, and caregivers. As the only domestic worker organizing group in the state, PDWA organizes and develops the leadership of women — primarily low-income women of color and immigrant women — to win workplace protections that ensure work is dignified and safe. To address the lack of basic labor protections for domestic workers, PDWA campaigned for a Philadelphia Domestic Worker Bill of Rights that went into effect on May 1, 2020 and now provides critical workplace protections to domestic workers. PDWA currently works towards ensuring the bill is being enforced through the Domestic Worker Task Force in partnership with the city.
