Soul 2 Soul provides Black women-led, interfaith, racial justice programming that centers Black people and experiences on personal liberation and participation in anti-racist activism. Formed at the height of recent deadly encounters between Black people and law enforcement officials, Soul 2 Soul’s organizational aim is for people of all racial-ethnic backgrounds to work together to dismantle entrenched racism. They also work to develop healthy, just, and liberated communities by focusing on personal liberation and anti-racist activism in congregations and the greater Denver metro area. Funding from Mary’s Pence will help start a new program, Audre’s Song, to promote healing, self-care, and sisterly support among Black women activists. The program will also focus on health and wellness as a means to reduce stress and address cardiovascular disease, a common health issue in the Black community.
